If you want to work with children and young people this course will help you take the first steps into a career in the profession. The BTEC Level 2 certificate in Children and Young People's Workforce will help you to develop a range of skills to enable you to work with children and young people from birth to 19 years and through a work experience placement you will get the chance to put the skills you learn in the classroom into practice in a real-life setting working alongside qualified staff. On completion of the course you will be able to get a supervised position working with children and young people or progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce. We have a very good success rate on this course and excellent feedback from our past students, many of whom have gone on to become family support workers, nursery managers and social workers or progressed to higher levels of study such as HNCs, HNDs, foundation degrees or university degrees. To enhance your learning, throughout the course you will have the opportunity to hear from visiting speakers who visit the college to talk to students about their experiences in the profession – recent guests have included Penny Tassoni, the author of many books about child development. This is a one year part-time course.
