The aim of this apprenticeship is to prepare learners to work with children and young people and includes jobs such as care and support workers and senior care and senion support workers.
You will be working in settings such as residential care homes, residential special schools, therapeutic communities, secure children’s homes, shared care and short break settings. You will be responsible for promoting a caring, healthy, stimulating, safe, secure environment for children and young people in care.

Entry Requirements
You should be at least 18 years old with a minimum of 4 GCSE's at grades C/4 or above including English and maths. You will be DBS checked prior to employment.
Delivery and Assessment
This includes direct observation within the workplace, candidate accounts, testimonies, written assignments/questions which make up a portfolio of evidence. Many learning outcomes within this qualification will require assessment in a real work environment.
Progression
Additional qualifications once in a senior or team leading role such as team leading, mentoring and supervision training.
