Resource definitions
VSAM (KSDS, RRDS, ESDS); VSAM (RLS); LSRPOOLS; Data Tables (CMDTs, UMDTs and CFDTs).
Internal architecture
Locking: CILOCK (NO|YES), non-RLS CI Level locking, non-RLS Record Level locking, RLS - Record Level locking; VSWAs, FRABs, FLABs and FCTEs; Function Shipping.
Debugging and tuning
IPCS analysis of File Control and Dispatcher domains; exploration of I/O avoidance techniques.
NOTE:
Attendees are encouraged to bring resource definitions and statistics reports to this course, so that their own environment can be reviewed.
