Aim

The aim of the course is to benefit anyone in a working environment as it provides candidates with an understanding of Health and Safety that will enable them to contribute to any-risk assessment based health and safety management system within their workplace.

Course Programme / Status

The training programme has been put together by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
Successful completion of the training programme and assessment will enable candidates to understand:

  • Health and Safety requirements placed on Employers & Employees.
  • Hazard and risk and the main causes of harm to workers.
  • Health, safety and welfare provisions in the workplace.
  • The importance of following safe systems of work, procedures and rules.
  • Hazards and controls in respect to both safety and occupational; health risks.
  • How their own actions can reduce risks to health and safety.

Instructors

Courses are carried out by our fully trained and accredited instructors and the training will be of a high quality standard throughout.

Location of Training

Training can be delivered on-site and off-site depending on customer requirements; training delivered off-site will be more advantageous to the trainees as the training can be specific to their workplace activities.

Delivery

The training is classroom based and provides a visual stimulus to reinforce the keys learning points, each trainee / student is encouraged to engage in interactive questions and answers from the trainer to either individuals or groups, each trainee is also issued a CIEH safety manual specific to the course.

Achievement Measurement

The training is carried out by accredited instructors / tutors and includes a theory examination culminating in 20 multi-choice questions and 10 open where the trainee / student must achieve 20 or more correct answers in order to receive a certificate endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
