IOSH Managing Safely in Ports (International Ports and Logistics)

Course Details

This is a course designed specifically for the management of health and safety needs of any person working in the global ports sector and is complementary to the aims and objectives of the Safer Ports Initiative in the United Kingdom. This qualification builds on the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health's (IOSH) Managing Safely course to create a specific course for the ports sector.

Qualifications required:
This is an open-access qualification and no prior qualifications are required. However, a reasonable level of literacy and numeracy will be required to be successful.

Course length:
The programme has been designed to run over five consecutive days but can be easily adapted to run as five one day modules spread over a number of weeks.

Course Fees vary depending on the number of candidates and the delivery location. The course has been delivered in a number of UK and international ports. Please contact us for further details. Successful completion of the programme will result in an IOSH Managing Safely Certificate. Candidates will be given a Learner Workbook,which is based upon the programme slides, with the notes page containing information that can be used by the candidate during and after the programme.

Progression:
Depending on the individual job role, candidates may wish to consider:
1. NVQ Level 3 Supervision of Port Operations (Ports and Logistics focus).
2. CILT (UK) Level 3 Higher Certificate in Logistics
