Day 1

• The training cycle and its importance
• Ways in which people learn
• Learning Styles and preferences
• Setting aims and objectives for learning
• Structuring an effective lesson plan

Day 2

• Selecting appropriate training methods and resources
• Methods of assessment
• Evaluation and learning
• Giving feedback
• Managing the learning environment
• Encouraging participation
• Using effective interpersonal skills to enhance learning

Day 3

• Putting into practice â€" delivery by delegates of a short training session followed by feedback from the course tutor and group members

Suitability

This course is ideal for anyone who needs to either understand the basics of training practice, or who wants to refine their training techniques. Those who have never delivered training before will find it an ideal basis for their future training activities.

Assessment

Candidates are assessed on their design and delivery of a short training session which they are required to deliver to other members of the group.
