Course Aims:
CISCO CCNA Discovery Semester 3 is a comprehensive introduction to the basics of computer networking and telecommunications principles. This course will prepare learners to sit the Cisco Discovery Introducing Routing and Switching in the Enterprise (CCNA3) certification the third step towards achieving the globally recognised CCNA professional certification which comprises of 4 parts.
Course Content:
Semester 3 (Introducing Routing and Switching in the Enterprise), focusing on VLANs, Distance and Link-State routing protocols and Access Control Lists. This course involves hands-on, lab-oriented activities that stress laboratory safety and working effectively in a group environment.
Theory aspects are studied and tested online using Ciscos own electronic curriculum which learners may also access from home. The course is delivered through a blended learning approach where tutor-led teaching is combined with the electronic materials and testing.
In addition, learners will be able to troubleshoot networking hardware communication problems. Learners will understand and apply commonly used networking technologies in a variety of contexts and appreciate what takes place in the daily operation of a network.

The course is assessed by the completion of a number of end of chapter online tests and an end of semester examination. The final CCNA examination is taken independently at a regional centre.
