Free IT courses, Microsoft, CISCO and PC Maintenance Certification

Presently we have funds to cover 50 employed people to take IT courses from us.
These courses will take you to a Microsoft or CISCO or PC Maintenance certification.

If you are not employed you can also call the number below and ask about available courses.

Requirements:

  • You have to be employed full time or part time, working at any place with less than 5,000 employees in any position.

  • Your employer has to agree that you can take the course.

  • You have to have basic IT skills and an interest in learning.

During the course you will have to come twice a week to Selby Centre in Tottenham, Haringey.
The classes will be held in the evenings and on weekends so there will be no interruption on your job.*

City and Guilds Diploma for IT Users and IT Practitioners Level 2


The Level 2 e-Quals IT User qualification is ideal for learners who want to get the best out computers. Designed as an alternative to the NVQ ITQ route, it has classroom based learning. The qualification helps to build skills and confidence in a range of areas including word-processing, spreadsheets and database, desktop publishing and web design. Staff can also use Microsoft Office Specialist units in Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint to gain their Diploma for IT Users.

Mandatory Units:

Unit 021: IT Principles 2

  • Describe the customer service of your organisation to customers and/or colleagues
  • Describe your organisation's products or services to customers and/or colleagues


Optional Units

Unit 022: Using word processing software to adapt and merge Documents (Word)
Unit 023: Designing and creating spreadsheets (Excel)
Unit 024: Designing and creating databases
Unit 026: Presentation Graphics
Unit 031 : Electronic Communication using outlook

Assessment
:

Candidates have to complete a portfolio of evidence and are assessed by an Assessor in the workplace usually consisting of 3-4 visits in total at a suitable time.

This qualification is aimed at employees who already have some knowledge and experience in the subject and want to improve or want recognition of their skills in systems support. This course is designed to cover all aspects of computer maintenance, troubleshooting and repair for both software and hardware. It can be taken as a refresher course for the experienced or as a training course for novices working in the field which has proved to be a success with SMEs providing computer hardware. To successfully achieve this qualification, candidates need to complete 5 City & Guilds units which is equivalent to the industry recognised A+ qualification. Unit 401: Maintain ICT equipment and systems
Unit 402: Customer support provision
Unit 403: Install and configure ICT equipment and operating systems
Unit 404: Install, configure and maintain software
Unit 408: Install, configure and test ICT Networks
Unit 031 : Electronic Communication using outlook

Assessment:

5 practical examinations and 1 multiple choice exam.

Free, funded course to those who meet eligibility criteria Level 2 NVQ Courses are free. The Learner’s contribution to the price of a Level 3 NVQ Course is £400.00 that can be paid by the learner or the employer.
