This is a level 1 introductory course, designed for beginners, which develops the elements of design and colour theory required for all floral design, using a variety of basic floristry techniques.

Course content

Use colour, line and texture to design and make a variety of simple designs, then prepare to make 2 traditional arrangements to the selected design (basket & oval table arrangement)
Select and store designs for traditional arrangements.
Estimate costs and time scales to make arrangements.
Suitable packaging.
Care and safe use of tools and equipment

Additionality

Students will be contacted before the start of the course regarding which flowers and equipment to bring to the first lesson. Subsequent weeks flowers will be given during the course.

Please allow for additional costs to include flowers and floristry related materials during this course.

Assessment

Continuous assessment plus portfolio of work to be externally verified.

Payment options: UK/EU Fee : £119.00 Overseas Fee : £235.00 Part-time enrolments are subject to an additional annual registration fee of £10 payable once only per academic year (exemptions may apply).
