Course programme

Assessment includes two online examinations, a written engineering principles examination, and three practical assignments relating to the chosen pathway.

The Level 3 Diploma in Engineering will provide learners with a range of technical skills and knowledge enabling them to either gain employment or progress into further training within the Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering sector. Although learners are likely to have already completed a Level 2 Certificate or Diploma in Engineering, they can progress directly into the Level 3 qualification.


The qualification provides knowledge and practical skills related to the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance, Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering, Fabrication and Welding and Technical Support. Learners who successfully complete Level 3 may progress into supervisory roles within the Engineering industry. Alternatively, learners may wish to progress to a Foundation Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a Level 4 Engineering Apprenticeship.
