City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing VRQ

Who is this course for?

This course is for students that already have their Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing or an equivalent Hairdressing qualification. It is an appropriate programme for people working in this industry.

What qualifications or experience do I need ?

Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing or equivalent must be completed plus current industrial experience. A personal interview will be required. Level 2 assessment in Literacy or ESOL or equivalent. You must pass the written and trade test at interview.

What will I study ?

This course will cover the following topics: Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon Consultation support for colleagues on hair services Cut women's hair using a variety of techniques Style and dress hair using a variety of techniques Colour hair to create a variety of locks Creative hairdressing design skills Perm hair to create a variety of looks Hair extension services Bridal hair Promote, sell products and services to clients

How will I be assessed ?

This programme is assessed by a range of methods, including projects, practical observations, oral questions and external written tests

What qualifications could I achieve ?

Level 3 Diploma in Women's Hairdressing

How do I join the course ?

Complete an enrolment form. You will be invited to attend an interview

Will I need an interview ?

Yes you may be asked to sit a written test as well as carrying out a trade test. A reference is also required.

Any extra costs for equipment/materials ?

You will need to spend approximately £25 on books. Hair extension kit will cost approx. £220. This will be explained at the start of the course
