The course content includes:

• Customer care and health and safety
• Career and job advice
• Advice and consultation skills for client
• Preparation of the hair
• Sectioning the hair
• Product selection – choosing the perfect product for the client
• Use of professional salon tools
• How to shampoo, condition the hair and scalp including massage techniques
• Consultation and treatments for hair and scalp
• Professional blow dry including straight blow dry, volume and movement
• Using GHD’s to create different looks
• Creatively cut hair using a combination of cutting techniques including one-length square cut, layering, straight bob, graduated bob, fringes
• Use of different colour products including temporary and permanent colour
• Colour hair using a variety of techniques such as root tints, full head tints
• Colour techniques using foils, including block and broken colours
• Style, dress, set and finishing techniques
• No more than 5 students per class to ensure a high standard of learning
• Advice on the best professional products to purchase
• One-to-one progress meetings with all students

The course is taught by qualified educators who incorporate theory work, special projects, demonstrations and hands-on workshops. Your tutor will guide you through the stages of the course and monitor your personal progress. All necessary equipment, styling tools and manuals are provided.

You will have the chance to practice cutting and colouring on members of the public towards the end of this course.

Students are welcome to bring in a camera to take photos during this course.
