City Lit fine art course: year 1 evening

- apply observational drawing skills
- use a variety of paint handling techniques in oil and acryclic media
- use a variety of non-press-based printmaking techniques
- begin to develop an understanding of critical theory within the context of personal artistic production.

There is a basic materials allowance, although you will be required to buy specialist items, such as canvas, stretchers, oils and sculpture materials. Tutors in the class will give advice on these. There will be no need to bring anything to the first session.

You will develop your work through a series of interrelated, set projects. Teaching methods will include individual tutorials, group discussions, seminars, practical demonstrations and projects, and museum and gallery visits.
