Civil Engineering MSc

These provide skills generic to engineering and research. The two modules are:

• CE50028 - Research Methods and Diploma Project
• CE52002 - Health, Safety & Environmental Management

Students on the MSc in Civil Engineering can take any four specialist modules, subject to approval of the Programme Convenor and timetabling constraints. The four modules must not match the four modules that would be taken as part of one of our named MSc programmes. In any one year, some modules may not be available.

• CE50017 - Design for Durability, Assessment and Repair
• CE50018 - Construction Systems
• CE50019 - Sustainable Use and Environmental Impact Assessment
• CE50023 - Offshore Geotechnical Engineering
• CE50024 - Advanced Soil Mechanics and Geoenvironmental Engineering
• CE50025 - Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering
• CE50029 - Project and Enterprise Management
• CE50031 - Hydrodynamics of Fluid-Structure Interaction
• CE50032 - Numerical Methods and Computational Fluid Dynamics
• CE50033 - Coastal Processes and Engineering Applications
• CE50034 - Marine Renewable Energy and Design

The research project is made up of two parts:

Students work on one project, the first part, CE50028 is completed before April. Students who satisfy the progression requirements then complete CE50007.
