The CIW JavaScript Specialist course teaches developers how to use the features of the JavaScript language to design client-side, platform-independent solutions. Students will also understand and use the most popular applications of JavaScript. These specialised Web language skills can help you begin or grow a career in advanced Web development and technologies.

Candidates who also have the CIW Perl Specialist certification and the CIW Database Design Specialist certification earn the advanced CIW Web Development Professional certification in addition.

About this course

No prior knowledge of the JavaScript programming language is necessary. However, students should be familiar with using the Internet, developing Web pages and configuring networks to a level consistent with that found in the CIW Web Foundations series. Knowledge of X/HTML code development is required.

This qualification has been developed by CIW to teach students the skills required for a career in web design and IT. CIW have a strong reputation for providing quality course materials and certification to professionals in many different countries.

The examination for this course must be taken at an approved CIW centre and is marked out of a possible 55. The examination is 90 minutes in length and students must achieve a grade of 75% or more in order to pass. Exam ID: 1D0-635

The CIW JavaScript Specialist course prepares candidates to take the CIW JavaScript Specialist exam, which if passed earns the individual the CIW JavaScript Specialist certification. CIW courses are examined in either a Pearson VUE or Prometric test centre and candidates must apply for their examinations and pay the necessary fee of £90 to sit the test.
