About this course

You must work within the cleaning industry for at least ten hours per week and be 19 years of age or over. You will undertake initial assessments in Literacy and Numeracy and support will be offered in these areas if needed. There are other eligibility criteria relating to prior qualifications and residency, which will be discussed at interview.

Is the course for me?
To develop occupational competence within a cleaning and support services setting and to develop the skills and knowledge needed.

What will I learn?
You will undertake six units,two of these units are core units, they include the following topics; * Maintaining and promoting service delivery * Working as a member of a team and supporting its work * Ensuring that your actions reduce risks to health and safety * Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with customers The other three units are optional and you can choose from a range of specific cleaning areas so that you can develop specialist skills, the options include * Building interiors * Highways and land * Carpets * Food premises * Passenger transport vehicles * Windows * Caretaking

How will I be assessed?
You will be observed through real work activities in your workplace and will produce a portfolio of evidence.
