Clinical Investigations and Diagnostic Imaging for Podiatrists

This course will build upon your existing diagnosis skills through the use of diagnostic imaging and clinically relevant lab tests. It provide you with the opportunity to develop the competences required to demonstrate an understanding of the various approaches to imaging and evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of imaging techniques and their use in the evaluation of pathology.

You will be introduced to the general principles that underpin the interpretation of diagnostic images taken using a variety of imaging techniques. As well as a systematic approach to the interpretation of podiatric images and outline how pathology is manifested. You will also demonstrate how to utilise imaging and other clinical investigations to aid diagnosis and inform surgical and musculoskeletal decision making and critically evaluate the validity of x-ray and other measurements in surgical practice.
