Introduction

The many and diverse skills required by a Close Protection Operative and his team to provide protection at all times make it essential that a selection, training and deployment policy are in place. The overall object is to provide protection for a person and/or their family, keeping them safe from the unwanted attentions of anyone. This could be protection from terrorists, criminals, and the insane, demonstrators, and autograph hunters, people who just wish to cause trouble or stalkers.

The CP team may be protecting people in a high risk situation such as overseas in a hostile environment. A medium risk situation could be posed by a sporting event or a personal appearance. Then there are the low risk situations such as company annual general meetings, or shopping trips. This of course all depends on a thorough understanding of the risk and threat assessment compiled for each task.

The Course

The Close Protection Training Course is designed to equip a security professional with the knowledge and practical skills to successfully operate as an effective member of a Close Protection team or individual Close Protection Officer. The course is delivered by highly experienced Close Protection Operators from former Military and Police backgrounds that have excelled in the commercial sector.
