Course objectives

Aimed at
Those who are, or wish to be, interested in developing, supporting or helping individuals in their organisation through coaching or mentoring.

Course content

• Define exactly what is meant by and the differences between coaching, mentoring, counselling and training.
• Apply a practical coaching process
• Identify individual learning styles and their impact on coaching successes
• Understand where coaching / mentoring opportunites can be incorporated into day-to-day operations
• Know how to ensure that coaching is a valuable feature of organisational learning & development strategy
• Develop knowledge, skills and qualities required to be an effective coach / mentor
• Assess the barriers to coaching / mentoring within an organisation and solutions to removing them
• Offer feedback in a way that is acceptable and valuable to the receiver
• Recognise their own and others' non-verbal communication
