About the Training Course
This three day course covers the evaluation and development of unconventional gas reservoirs with special focus on CBM reservoirs and on the hydraulic fracturing process. The recent success in developing unconventional reservoirs has had a dramatic impact on gas markets, company strategies, and on technology. This course provides an overview of those issues and the expected future changes. In addition, the course presents the evaluation and development details for CBM, including the geology, drilling, completion, stimulation and production aspects.
The review of fracturing technology and the associated risks and rewards apply to all unconventional gas reservoirs but are especially important in the development of Shale Gas, Tight Gas and Shale Oil.
The majority of the presentation material and the material for the many case studies in this course are derived from actual projects completed by the course instructor. The technical segments of the course will be presented at a level appropriate for those not experienced with well operations or frac design.
