The COBIS DITA has been created to provide International Teaching Assistants with the knowledge, skills and understanding to work effectively alongside the teacher whilst maximising learning opportunities for the children.
The COBIS DITA and the COBIS DITA for Early years is delivered with exceptional, personalised support and a strong belief that high standards in Teaching Assistant practice have a direct impact on children’s learning experiences.
COBIS has accredited the DITA and the DITA for Early Years and the courses will be recognised in FOBISIA schools.

This course is suitable someone working as a TA in an International School.
Teaching Assistants completing the COBIS DITA must be working in an International setting with opportunities to support teaching and learning on a regular basis. No formal qualifications are required to complete this course.
A good understanding of written and spoken English is essential in addition to the ability to write in good quality English.

The course contains 6 units made up of 5 mandatory units and 1 optional unit.
Unit 1: Providing Play OpportunitiesThe value of play, Learning through play, theories of play and different types of play, providing play environments, play to support all areas of development
Unit 2: Promoting Children’s Speech, Language and Communication in an International ContextCreating a language rich environment, integrating speech, language and communication in activities
Unit 3: SafeguardingUnderstanding the safeguarding policy of the setting, understanding the challenges of safeguarding children in an International setting, actively promoting safeguarding within practice.
Unit 4: Supporting personal, social and emotional developmentCreating an environment that supports personal, social and emotional development, providing opportunities to support personal, social and emotional development
Unit 5: Observation & Assessment in the Early YearsCarrying out a range of observations for different purposes, supporting the class teacher in considering next steps based on observation findings, record keeping in line with expectations of the setting

Understanding school readiness, factors affecting readiness for school, working with other professionals to support transition
