Working with collage is a direct communication from eye to hand and the delight in creating the unexpected. The course aims to help you loosen up, to take risks and be playful in your approach and to explore different ways of working. There will be an opportunity to look at how contemporary artists and designers use collage in their work.

Course programme

- basic design elements; shape, line, structure, colour, texture and contrast.
- juxtaposition of image and type.
-generating colour palettes.
-collage work in contemporary Design practice.

You will be taught through a series of practical exercises, presentations, individual tutorials and group discussion. You may be asked to undertake some work between classes if necessary. You will need an A4 or A5 size sketchbook to record information, and a set of fine liner Black pens.
