Course programme
The anatomy and physiology section of the course will focus on :
- The deeper insight into role of each section of the alimentary canal.
- The specific role in digestion and elimination of accessory organs that support the alimentary canal: teeth, salivary glands, tongue, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, spleen and kidneys.
- The enervation and innervation of the large intestine.
The digestion section of the course will focus on the review of the main food groups and the role of each organ in the process of digestion. The following will be covered:
- Elimination of carbohydrate, fat and protein-related wastes.
- Constipation and diarrhoea as two most common digestive disorders, their relation the innervation of the large intestine and their types, origins and management.
- Stools as reflection of the effectiveness of the digestive system.
Six clients will be treated during the course, with the special emphasis on the consultation before the treatment, client involvement in the healing process during the treatment and aftercare discussion and suggestions.
