Common Health Conditions NCFE Certificate Level 2

The course contains two assessments covering the six sections detailed below: Section 1 - Understand How to Contribute to Monitoring the Health of Individuals Affected by Health Conditions This unit will help you to understand how you can contribute to monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions and why it is important to monitor their health. Section 2 - Introductory Awareness of Sensory Loss This section will help you to understand the reasons why sensory loss occurs, the effect this can have on an individual and the steps needed to overcome this. Section 3 - Stroke Awareness In this section you will gain an understanding of what happens during a stroke. You will also learn the importance of stroke management, how to recognise the signs of a stroke and the risk factors associated with a stroke. Section 4 - Dementia Awareness This section will help you to understand the development, causes and symptoms of dementia. You will learn about the experience of dementia and the impact it has on an individual’s life. Section 5 - Arthritis Awareness In this section you will gain an understanding of what arthritis is and the treatment options and support services available. You will also look at the impact arthritis can have on an individual and how the condition can be managed. Section 6 - Parkinson’s Disease Awareness In this section you will find out what Parkinson’s disease is and the treatment options and supports services available. You will also find out about the impact of Parkinson’s disease on an individual and how the condition can be managed.
