Communication 4 (Code: EE3T12 2 Credits)

Aim:
This Unit with Literature 1 is equivalent to a Higher English, and is acceptable at numerous Higher Learning Institutions. To provide competence in reading, writing, listening and talking skills, equivalent to a pass at Higher Grade.

Length of Study:
36 weeks with tutor support.

Entry Requirements:
It would be helpful if students possessed Communication 3, however this is not necessary for adult returners.

Contents:
Developing Reading and Comprehension Skills; Writing Memos, Letters and Reports; Developing the Skills of Critical Listening; Interacting Orally on a One-to-One or Group Basis.

Study Method:
Home-based self study with tutor support for help and advice. Please note that some College attendance is essential. Students must be able to attend College for some assessments.

Assessment:
There are eight assessments in all, with written assessments for reading and writing and practical exercises in listening and talking skills. There is a high element of group interaction on this course and students would attend College to practise listening and talking skills prior to formal assessment.

£210 + £12.75 SQA Fees.
