History

To promote mental health in and out of the workplace, Community Links is delivering Mental Health First Aid training throughout Yorkshire and the Humber. This is achieved via a two-day, nationally recognised training course aimed at all sections of the public.

Advantages of studying here

What will I gain from the training?
•Better understanding of mental health
•More confidence about mental health problems and how to offer early help to others
•Reduced stigma about mental health
•Better awareness of your own and other people’s mental health issues

The course is aimed at those who have little or no knowledge of mental health. Trainees will not become ‘therapists’, but will gain the knowledge of how to act when confronted by someone in distress. A certificate will be awarded to each delegate who completes the course.

Places cost just £80 for the two-day course, including lunch and all course materials. However if you meet any of the following criteria, you may be able to attend the course at the reduced rate of £20.
•You are member of a community organisation or tenants group
•You a volunteer with a homeless, refugee or Traveller charity
•You work for a small, voluntary organisation with a limited budget

In addition to these dates, if you have 12-15 employees who are interested in the training, we can come to your workplace to deliver the course. Visit the website for available dates.
