Course Title: Competence in Assessment Practice

Overview:

This one-day event focuses on providing a thorough understanding of the syllabus for A1, the key activities and functions within the job role, understanding and using assessment methods effectively, quality assurance of the assessment process and maintaining CPD in line with the assessment strategy.

Target group: Trainee Assessors, newly qualified Assessors and CPD
for Practising Assessors.

Course Content:

• Background to A1
• A1 Explored - functional analysis
• Implications of operating and delivering to A1 standard
• Quality assurance of the assessment process
• Develop plans for assessing competence with candidates
• Judge evidence against criteria to make assessment decisions
• Provide feedback and support to candidates on assessment
  decisions
• Contribute to the internal quality assurance process
• Action plan and issues
