This 5-day course provides electrical and instrument technicians with the necessary competence to work in potentially explosive environments.

People attending this course often work in potentially explosive environments such as:
On and off-shore oil and gas installations, Petrochemical plants, Distilleries, Petrol forecourt environments, Mills and other dust generating environments.

Delegates should be able to make off steel wire armoured cable glands when attending modules EX01/2/3/4/5/6 as well as being able to carry out electrical testing for Continuity, Insulation Resistance and Polarity. Candidates wishing to attend CompEx Ex01-Ex04 should have a working background as electrician, electronic technician or instrument technician. An electrical installation background is helpful but not essential.

About this course

Delegates should be qualified with the NVQ3 and provide a copy of the certificate when booking. It is recommended that learners are able to make off steel wire armoured cable glands when attending these modules and are able to carry out electrical testing for Continuity, Insulation Resistance and Polarity.
