About this course
Entrants to the Graduate School will normally hold a first degree or equivalent (or, for some programmes, be of equivalent professional standing). This qualification need not be in music, but all candidates for performance programmes must be able to satisfy the College that they have already achieved an advanced standard of performance in their Principal Study discipline, and have the potential to develop further towards a professional level of attainment.

Master of Music in Composition
Mode: intensive full-time
The biggest plus of studying composition at the RNCM is that every piece you write gets a performance. This means you can really learn your craft by hearing how your compositions work in practice.
Another benefit is that, as a performance venue, the RNCM is a magnet for world-class composers. You will get the chance to work with people of the calibre of Magnus Lindberg, Harrison Birtwistle, Louis Andriessen and Peter Maxwell Davies, all of whom have visited the RNCM in recent years.
