Course programme

At level 4, you will learn the principles that form a comprehensive knowledge of the development and support of networked computer system, through a combination of practical work and the theory that underpins it. The mix of concept, theory and practice lays a foundation for you to independently consider and develop computer networks and support systems, later in the course and in employment. At level 5, you will begin to focus on planning, developing and implementing solutions; you will use problem solving skills, as well as demonstrate where existing theories have been provided as solutions. Through group work, you will also build on your project management, organisational and time-management skills that are vital for level 6 and employment. Level 6 develops existing skills to an advanced level, and culminates in an individual final project which will showcase your technical skills and professional execution. You will also be involved in researching and planning for future employment or further education.
