This course is designed to match the growing need for graduates who are trained in one discipline and are also skilled in computer science. You’ll gain a strong foundation in programming, software development and contemporary themes in the industry.

The course gives you a broad overview of computer science, with opportunities to specialise in a number of different research areas.

You'll study in a research-led department within a supportive postgraduate community. You’ll be using our bespoke computer laboratory and with our strong links to industry here and abroad you'll be exposed to the latest ideas and technology.

About this course

You’ll gain the knowledge and transferable skills for a career in a range of industries, or for further study at PhD or EngD level. With computer science forming an essential part of a number of key industries, our MSc graduates are highly sought after by employers. Graduates from the Department have gone on to work in areas such as IT consultancy, software development, banking and education.

IELTS: 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in all components
The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic): 62 with no less than 59 in any element
TOEFL IBT: 90 overall with a minimum 21 in all 4 components
If you need to improve your English language skills before starting your studies, you may be able to take a pre-sessional course to reach the required level.
