Content
This training will develop practical and theoretical skills and knowledge to allow candidates to demonstrate a level of competence and be assessed so that they meet National Standards at NVQ level 2, providing opportunity to develop practical skills needed with the trade area covering such aspects as, health and safety, move and handle resources.

Site Carpentry install first and second fixing components, erect structural 'carcassing' components.

Bench Joinery Set up circular saws, produce setting out details for routine products, mark out and manufacture routing products

Assessment
Candidates will be assessed through the use of examinations, practical and theory assignments. Completion of a portfolio of evidence from assessment within the workplace will be required to complete the NVQ.

Progression Once complete candidates can progress onto an Advanced Apprenticeship Framework
  • Technical Certificate - An appropriate Level 2 award such as the Intermediate Construction Award (ICA) in either Bench Joinery or Site Carpentry
  • Key Skills - Application of Number Level 1 and Communication Level 1
  • NVQ Level Qualification - Bench Joinery or Site Carpentry
