Contemporary Crafts

Course Aims:
An introduction to basic craft techniques

Course Content:
The course includes simple book making, pop up cards, textile printing, using recycled materials and 3D sculpture.

Progression:
There are a large number of courses at all levels provided by the Creative Industries Faculty.

Awarding Body:
NCFE

Exam:
Assessment is informal and ongoing. Students will produce a portfolio of work showing completion/evidence of three mandatory units which are assessed by the tutor and verified by an external NCFE moderator. As an integral part of the course all students will be expected to complete a workbook evidencing competence in the assessment criteria.

Qualification:
NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Creative Craft (Contemporary Crafts)

Other Costs:
Students may be expected to purchase some of the craft materials and this will we discussed with your tutor at the first session

Duration:
2.5 hours per week for 24 weeks
