It is recommended that you hold a full level 2 qualification, for example 4 GCSEs including English and maths at grade C or above (or grade 5 or above from June 2017). For adults, this requirement can be satisfied with relevant industry or life experience.

Course programme

Year 1

In this unit you will begin to understand the importance of contracts. These are fundamental to our life and everyday we enter into contracts as individuals and as businesses. You will learn how and when a contract becomes valid, how it can be terminated, how it can be broken or amended and cover the rights and responsibilities the injured party might have when things go wrong. You will also look at the different types of terms found within contracts generally as well as those implied by the Sale of Goods Act and other consumer rights legislation.

Additional information

This unit will be assessed by a 1½ hour examination (plus 15 minutes reading time). Results for these units are graded pass, merit, and distinction.
