About this course

It is recommended that you have five GCSEs including English and maths at Grade 4 (C) or above. Adults with equivalent experience or qualifications will also be accepted. To study this module, you should be able to have understanding and knowledge of criminal law. Ideally, some knowledge would be beneficial or industry experience.

Course programme

Year 1

You will understand the key concepts, terms and processes in the area of Contract Law. You will learn and understand:
1. The concept of contract
2. The rules for establishing whether a valid offer and acceptance have taken place
3. The concept of consideration in contract
4. The rules for determining a party’s intention to enter into a contract
5. How terms are incorporated into a contract
6. The classification of different provisions of a contract, and the implication of categorisation
7. Misrepresentation and its consequences
8. The ways in which a contract may be discharged
9. The remedies available where a contract has been breached

Additional information

Students will take an exam towards the end of the module during a set exam month (January or June) set by the exam board. A fee will be incurred.
