This course is designed to provide a strong foundation in Counselling Skills appropriate to working with Children and Young People. Suitable for: Students who already have counsellor training and would like to learn more about this specialised area. It is also suitable for students who have experience of working with children or young people and would like to develop their counselling skills.

Study topics include: the child-counsellor relationship; theoretical and practical foundations; child counselling skills and approaches; understanding adolescence; the process of therapeutic change; play therapy; self-esteem building; social skills; developing protective behaviours. Includes study materials, three textbooks and full tutorial support.
