This course aims to develop a particular understanding of the Person-Centred theory of counselling as well as comparing and contrasting 2 other approaches to the principal model.
You will explore ethical issues around counselling and develop counselling skills through observing the counselling skills of other students and reviewing your own skills.
This course also involves exploring your own feelings, values and beliefs to allow for growth and to raise self-awareness.
Assessment is via a portfolio of internally assessed work as well as a recorded observed counselling skills session of around 30 minute duration.
