Programme Description:
The First Diploma in Creative Digital Media Production offers students a highly practical and vocational pathway through production work.
Students will develop the introductory creative and technical skills required to make their own production work through photography, moving image, animation, audio and interactive publishing.
Supporting this creative and technical production work are units designed to develop student knowledge of the Creative Media Industry itself - the various sectors that make up the Creative industries - as well as understanding the job roles, responsibilities and career pathways that are available in this dynamic and rapidly developing sector.
As the Creative Industries in the UK, and especially Wales, continue to grow, the First Diploma is the gateway for students wishing to develop and progress themselves and their creative work in this exciting and challenging industry.

Progression and Employment:
The last five years has seen growth in the Creative Media industries in Wales. From Tinopolis in Llanelli, to DaVinci's Demons in Swansea and the Roath Bay studios in Cardiff, there's never been a better time to be entering the Creative Media Industries. The knowledge, understanding and skills learnt in studying a BTEC First will aid progression to further study and prepare learners to enter the workplace in due course. In the creative media sector, typical employment opportunities may include working as a junior graphic, web designer or camera assistant.
The Pearson BTEC Level 1/Level 2 First Extended Certificate and Diploma in Creative Digital Media Production provide the knowledge, skills and understanding for level 2 learners to progress to:
