Cross Infection for all Dental Staff

Objectives

• To reinforce the importance of cross infection control in general dental practice both to our patients and the surgery team.
• To explore changes that will affect cross infection control in oral surgeries in England
• To apply the new recommendations for Dental Practice Cross Infection Control to our everyday experience.
• To explore how they impact upon all aspects of our work day lives.
• To anticipate some of the future changes in light of recent endodontic guidance.
• To review the current knowledge of infectious diseases with special reference to general dental practice.
• To offer an opportunity to discuss various possible scenarios such as needle-stick injury and help key surgery workers to consider their actions prior to such a situation occurring.
