Course detail Description
Our BA centres around three main areas:
- Media and Communications
- Cultural Studies
- Creative/Media Industries and Institutions
Your optional modules will allow you to shape the degree around the areas that interest you most – you can either specialise in a topic or experience a broad range of themes. With a strong focus on professional development, this degree is perfect if you are looking for careers in the cultural, creative and media industries or work in various roles that cover arts management, communications, publishing, public relations, advertising, policy or marketing.
TeachingThis is a three-year course that comprises of modules totalling 360 credits. Your core modules provide a foundation for the degree and the diverse optional modules on offer will appeal to a wide range of creative subjects as well as giving you the opportunity to discover new areas of study. Modules cover varied topics such as creativity, children and media, diversity, fashion, gender, intersectionality, memory, music, publishing, work in the cultural industries, and visual culture amongst others. The course also gives you the opportunity to put theory in to practice via project-based modules in years 2 & 3 which will involve organising and participating in public-facing events.
AssessmentYour performance will be assessed through coursework. Forms of assessment may typically include essays, presentations and portfolios.
LocationThe course is primarily taught at the King’s College London Strand Campus. Please note that locations are determined by where each module is taught and may vary depending on the optional modules you select.
