COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course has been developed so as to meet the full requirements of the PUWER Regulations and is designed for candidates who have had no training on cutting and grinding tools and those requiring refresher training.

AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE
To train candidates in the correct selection, mounting and storage of abrasive wheels. The correct use of cutting and grinding tools and equipment and particle face fitting for RPE used with the equipment.

By the end of the course the candidates will have a full understanding of their duties and responsibilities when using cutting and grinding equipment and will have been given instruction on the correct selection and mounting of abrasives wheels along with the required face fit test for the RPE used.

COURSE CONTENT

  • Health and safety legislations including PPE requirements
  • Abrasive wheels
  • Hand arm vibration
  • Safe working practices in the correct use of cutting and grinding tools
  • Particle face fit test
  • Practical test on selection and mounting of discs.
  • Practical instruction on the use of cutting and grinding tools

This course can be run on the clients’ premises, sites, or at an arranged venue
