The Fitt Complete Personal Trainer Course will give you so much more than just a certificate in Personal Training!

On completing this qualification you will have sound knowledge and a variety of skills in several disciplines that can be adapted for group or one to one sessions. You will be qualified to train a broad spectrum of clients in different locations and have so much more to offer employers compared to other trainers, like Indoor Cycling and Circuit classes not to mention, maximising your income!.

The course has been divided into the following modules. They are taught over separate dates, but must be booked together on one application. To be able to attend this course, you will need to hold the CYQ Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing or equivalent.

Module One: CYQ Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training

CYQ Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology for Exercise and Health

This unit is a distance-learning course studied a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the Personal Trainer Course starting. During the course, you will study from a manual; have access to an online programme and the opportunity of support from a tutor by phone or email. It is assessed through an external exam taken on the Personal Trainer Practical Course.

CYQ Level 3 Applying the Principles of Nutrition to a Physical Activity Programme

The aim of this unit is to provide you with basic and appropriate nutritional advice, recommend sensible eating strategies, modify recipes and diets for a variety of needs. On completion of the unit you will have demonstrated how to give advice on effective long-term fat/weight loss and/or healthy eating, based on sound scientific principles.

This unit is studied through blended learning. Students will receive their manuals, online learning and worksheets a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the Nutrition and Weight Management Course starting.

The Nutrition Unit has 2 assessments:

Assessment 1 – Case Study

You will be expected to apply your newly acquired knowledge to design nutritional plans to meet the chosen individuals needs and wants.

Assessment 2 – Theory Paper

A multiple choice written theory test of the underpinning knowledge.

This exam is externally set and assessed by CYQ and consists of 40 questions.

CYQ Level 3 Programming Personal Training with Clients and Delivering Personal Training Sessions

4 Day Intensive Course
1 Day Assessment

The aim of this unit is to teach you the underpinning knowledge to appraise a client’s fitness and design and evaluate an appropriate programme from this information.

Assessment is through preparatory evidence, observation of practical demonstration and feedback.

On successful completion of this REPs accredited certificate, you will qualify for 20 REPs Points.

Module Two: Fitt Circuit Training

1 Day Intensive Course and 1 Day Assessment

This qualification will allow you to teach a group circuit class. You will learn skills in
planning, instructing and evaluating a safe and effective circuit training session.

On successful completion of this REPs accredited certificate, you will qualify for 8 REPs Points.

Module Three: Fitt Indoor Cycling

1 Day Intensive Course 1

This comprehensive one-day course delivers everything you need to create and teach safe, effective and motivational group indoor cycling classes for a variety of fitness and ability levels. Using the most up to date guidelines we teach techniques you can effectively use on any of the popular fixed gear studio bikes available.

On successful completion of this REPs accredited certificate, you will qualify for 8 REPs Points.

Course venue: Fitness First, Bognor

Module Four: Fitt Outdoor Training

This qualification will provide you with the knowledge and skill to deliver training sessions using a variety of activities for outdoors.

On successful completion of this REPs accredited certificate, you will qualify for 8 REPs Points.

Course venue: Bognor, outdoors

Module Five: Fitt Beginner/Intermediate Stability Ball

This qualification will give you the skills to teach beginner to intermediate level participants stability ball exercises that can then be incorporated into a group exercise session or taught one to one. This one-day course is packed full of basic exercise ideas using the stability ball for you to start using straightaway.

On successful completion of this REPs accredited certificate, you will qualify for 8 REPs Points.

Module six: Fitt Marketing and Promoting Business

The qualification is to provide you with confidence and basic financial skills to effectively establish and maintain a successful business.
