2. Course description You'll learn all about the performing arts industry and will develop your skills in dance and movement. You'll enjoy trips to theatre shows and galleries and learn about the many areas that make up the performing arts industry. The course itself will help you develop your skills in:   •Performance work (productions, etc)  •Jazz  •Contemporary dance  •Ballet  •Street dance  •Choreography  •Costume design  •Business  •Understanding dance  Students will need to have a flexible approach and be able to participate in group work.

Entry requirements Students must have ONE of the following:      4 GCSEs (3 at grades A*-D and 1 at grade A*-E), including English & Maths     Level 1 Creative & Media Foundation Diploma or Level 1 Diploma in Performing Arts at merit, plus GCSE English & Maths (1 at grade A*-D and 1 at grade A*-E)     Equivalent qualifications - Functional Skills may be accepted in place of GCSE Maths and/or English  An audition involving group exercises is required.  Adults 19+ who have industry experience but do not have the necessary qualifications are welcome to apply. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method You will be assessed on practical tasks, projects and productions, supported by a record of written evidence.
