The efficient modelling, storage and retrieval of data is key to extracting the maximum value from that data and enabling business decisions. This course will begin by describing the importance of modelling data and the storage of structured data in traditional relational databases. We will expand upon this by discussing alternative technologies such as streaming analytics and NoSQL technologies. It will provide a toolbox of approaches to the storage and management of data that will help the participant critically evaluate their requirements and aid with the strategic choice of storage technologies.

Course structure A mixture of lectures, lab-based practical studies and group sessions, all carefully designed to build the students understanding and knowledge through the course. There is 5 day residential element followed by seven weeks of self-directed learning.
