Dealing with Loss and Bereavement

Dealing with a bereavement is personal and different for every individual, so when we find ourselves supporting someone who has recently been bereaved, it can be difficult to be sure of the best way to help.

We start this course with groupwork to get delegates to recognise that for some people, other forms of loss can evoke a similar process to bereavement and how this is handled can have a profound effect on the sufferer. We then look briefly at some of the theories surrounding this sensitive topic before moving onto what practical support is available, finishing with some first hand knowledge of what does and does not help.
