I have truly enjoyed my time at Coventry University, I am so happy I chose to attend here! The university is great and modern. The library is perfect for when you trying to cram in all that last minute work, as it's open 24 hours a day. All teachers supported my study throughout and my tutor support was always available and very professional. The whole university has a big family feel and I loved it. Would highly recommend it.

This course has gone past my expectations because we studied thoroughly some topics which I am interested in. They also encouraged me to do more reading about poverty and the colonisation in Africa. Field trips were an amazing way of making new friends and developing skills which cannot be developed in a class. We have also developed critical thinking skills, which makes us distinctive and highly demand in the employment world.

It has been a wonderful experience since I am here. As already said, it was quite stressful planning everything before I arrived. But the Uni is great and has a good and positive atmosphere. Really enjoy it!university’s facilities? They are very modern and I love to be at the University. In fact, I am there more often than at home. The library is GREAT and has such good working spaces. The Hub is a great place to stay at and most buildings have more places where one can study. That is MUCH better than my German Uni! university’s facilities? It's been fantastic and great fun! Coventry doesn't always have the best reputation for being a nice city however it has completely exceeded my expectations. I am doing great in university, enjoying my placement year and its all down to the fantastic support I've received from the uni! The Faculty of Business & Law Employment Support Team at my university are fantastic. I am currently on a placement year and I couldn't have done it without them! They encouraged me to start applying by informing me of how important placement years are, helped me with my CV and cover letter and helped me with interviews. My Placement Adviser even sent me good luck messages before my interviews! I also had various careers modules in my first and second year that helped me with my employability; the Employment Support Team also organise employers to come in and do presentations whcih is also a great help! My university's facilities are excellent. They have just renovated the library so that it is more modern and have really listened to complainants that there wasn't enough computers as they have now opened up additional rooms with many more computers in!

The University of Coventry provided lots of professional opportunities, industry standard video equipment and good general support. The modules were usually practical which I enjoyed. My experience has been great so far. As for the staff there they were very helpful with me when I was getting my minibus liscence through the university. Throughout university I captained the snowsports team and would have to deal with the SU staff regularly. They were very helpful and would always do every thing they could to help the team. Nothing stands out other than the volunteering fair where they offer lots of community based activities for students to boost their cv and give back to the community.

I have enjoyed my degree and my experience so far. I have received a good level of support from lectuters and the level of feedback has been great. There is a good nightlife and plenty of things to do when you are not on campus, eg, cinema, eating out etc. There are lots of services for you to choose. A module dedicated to developing academic and professional skills. We are shown how to make a good CV, write good cover letters, fill out application forms and succeed at assessment centers. There is also an employment team. All facilities are very new and they work well, the library is nice and the facilities are constantly being upgraded. The buildings are all pleasant and they are kept clean.

My research aims to identify factors that affect the employment choices of migrants. I'm looking at the British-Pakistani men in particular because almost 25% of British-Pakistani men in UK choose to drive taxis. There is also the debate about how free are people to choose their life options given the kind of ethnic backgrounds they are from, the gender, the class they belong to. So, it is a overarching question of structure and agency that I'm trying to answer through the case study of Pakistani men. In the first year you have to go through 3 modules. One is the philosophy behind the social science research. The second module that we do is one on research methods which is qualitative and quantitative. The third thing is we do a module called Understanding your Discipline and it's about understanding the different key readings in our discipline and critiquing them

The University offers a lot of support with regards to how to write CV's, interview help, especially with regards to what you want to do after uni as well. It has been one of the best experiences i have had. I have made so many new friends and I have unforgettable memories. I have done things I wouldn't have been able to do before such as dance, take extremely cheap trips to other countries such as China. It has opened my eyes to a lot the world has to offer. The always broadcast work opportunities be it placement, work experience or even volunteering. I would recommend it with no hesitation.

So far experience has been mixed. the most important thing to me is the course and this has been good to a point. Most of the modules are engaging and teach a variety of skills and the majority of the tutors are helpful and have great amounts of knowledge of the industry. however there hes been some disappointments. The course currently does not offer training in software, which is a critical skill in order to get a job in practice. The tutors are aware of this but the current expectation is to teach this to ourselves. The university also has failed to fulfill is promise in the 'no hidden extras' promise advertised when I joined the university as this year we are expected to make a significant contribution towards our compulsory trip which last year was virtually free. There was also a reduction in the quality and volume of equipment provided this year in comparison to previous years. So far there has been no explanation provided for this change and has left me and fellow students disappointed that we have been mislead. We are also unhappy about how the university does not include students in major decisions . The biggest being the courses move from the engineering faculty to the arts and humanities without warning just before the course started. The first we heard of it was the day we arrived! This was a move that resulted in our course becoming neglected and isolated from key facilities such as computer suits. We are also isolated geographically as our studio/ lecture space is still in an engineering building.
