Classroom-based Biochemistry Degrees in North Yorkshire

This course balances perfectly in depth aspects of both medicine and the pharmaceutical industry, providing clear career information and how to get there. This is along with the opportunity to stay on at the university and gain a masters in pharmacology and drug discovery, as well as plenty of PhD opportunities for those students willing to work for it. All staff are available when they say they will be and only at the other end of an email, I have received an unbelievable level of support with absolutely everything I have done, whether that be personal, interview training, guidance with work I find difficult etc. The course is set 50% each way roughly by coursework and exams, coursework including essays, lab reports and leading on to writing full scientific articles - potentially worthy of publication or conferences. Final year also includes your own lab based project for your thesis, conducting your own research! Teaching is lecture, workshop and lab based, along with an element of independent study which is up to you if you want to achieve those higher grades. The level of lab experience we gain at this university is of an extremely high standard and focuses around making you an attractive and employable graduate.

This university suitable for anyone. I am really glad I choose Coventry such a lovely campus and city! Overall I think this is a great University with a diverse range of courses that have a lot to offer. There is always someone who can help you, you can not be bored because of the huge amount of programs and societies and the employment rate after graduation is really high. I would recommend this Uni to anyone willing to gain a diploma and enjoy a wonderful experience!

I am studying Medical Science and Pharmacological Sciences. It is a very interesting course and you can specialise and divert to any branch. Pharmacology is a great course to be in. I'd like to be a clinical research scientist and this idea came from many work placements I have done during summer. Last summer I worked with one of my lecturers and I was able to see her research on anticancer drugs.

My experience has been great, the course is fantastic, the nightlife is great, the people are lovely, the city is beautiful, the lecturers make the course interesting, there are a lot of opportunities to grow! Work experience, internships, industrial placements, part-time jobs, modules from different courses, skills modules. Courses and lecturers are interactive, fun, and make the course interesting! There are lts of environmental projects/ TEDx talks/ volunteering in local schools, migrant centres, refugee centres, city councils. The students' Union is well run, I try to get involved as much as I can, however my main priority in university is my course and degree.
