Design with Scents

This unique, highly interactive course will introduce you to the concept of designing places through the sense of smell. For professionals and students across the creative fields and for fragrance lovers, it will provide you with a basic knowledge of fragrance and sensory design skills.

Lead by a combination of olfactory experts you will explore how to use scents to enhance projects in the fields of design and architecture, marketing and communication.

The course includes:

• Developing a cross-sensory understanding of fragrances
• How scents can affect emotions
• The scents that form the perfumer's palette
• Blending scents: ingredients, accords and compositions
• Analysing a specific environment and developing scent design solutions
• How social and cultural fashions are reflected in perfume
• How to translate an idea with fragrance

The fee includes a personal perfume kit which can be used as a reference for future projects, as well for further home study.

All levels. The course format accommodates all levels, from beginners to advanced. Participants have included experienced professionals from perfume/design industries as much as beginners from these and other fields. You should have an interest in the subject area and a desire to learn but no previous experience is required.
