All companies and other organisations in the UK are being encouraged to adopt more environmentally friendly management policies. There is also an initiative by the Department of the Environment and Rural Affairs to train those working in land-based industries in environmental awareness management. The Developing Environmental Awareness QCF encourages learners to think more about our actions and the effects they might have on the environment.
This fully recognised Ascentis Level 2 qualification - Certificate in Environmental Awareness is suitable for both individual learners and those in a work situation. The course provides learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding of the main environmental issues facing organisations and instructs learners in how to carry out an environmental audit in their own organisation, how to manage scarce environmental resources and how to reduce the risk of pollution. This programme is suitable for individual learners and not just those in a work situation.

Developing environmental awareness ascentis (level 2 award)
How is the course structured?The Level 2 Certificate in Developing Environmental Awareness directs learners to focus on six key modules:
- Module 1 - Introduction to the Principles of Environmental Awareness

- Module 6 - Reducing the Risk of Pollution
Course assessment
This course is marked through a process of continuous assessment guided by your tutor following Ascentis guidelines. This means that your qualification will be awarded according to your performance on assessments rather than by taking an exam.
We send the full course out with the units listed above, you then read through the course in your own time and complete the assignments which you send to your tutor for marking. There is no word count for these assignments. However, one sentence answers will be rejected and you will have to re-submit it for marking.
Upon verification of the activities, exercises and assignments, a certificate of achievement will be awarded by Ascentis, as confirmation that your written work has met all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for the programme.
