Course programme

What will this course cover?

This course will encourage you to reflect upon your learning from a variety of experiences and document these experiences in an academic piece of work (portfolio). The module enables you to develop your reflective skills in order to deepen your clinical, professional and academic knowledge. Using a model of reflection you consider how formal and experiential learning has developed your practice. You then apply this theory to practice and from this analysis you can identify gaps in your knowledge or experience. These gaps can then be addressed in your personal development plan (PDP) in the future.

On successful completion of the module you should have:

  • developed your knowledge and skills in academic writing
  • developed your knowledge and skills in presenting to a group
  • developed your knowledge and skills in research methods
  • prepared a portfolio of evidence to be submitted to the CATS committee for approval of admission onto a degree programme.
